1. Is the Broadcast Training Program recognized?
The Broadcast Training Program is a 10 month certificate course conducted by NDTV. It is not recognised by any university or AICTE.
2. Can I apply to Broadcast Training Program if I have a Bachelor of Science degree and not a B.A.?
Yes, the minimum qualification to join the Broadcast Training Program is a Bachelor's degree in any discipline, be it science, commerce,humanities, home science or any other field.
3. What is the minimum percentage required to apply?
The cut off percentage for application to the Broadcast Training Program is 45% for Honours graduates and 50% for others.
4. How much will my academic performance in school and college determine my chance in this course?
Your academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities, both in school and college will be taken into consideration. However, the decision to admit you to the course will be taken on the basis of audio-visual test and an interview. Interview calls will be sent on emails and will be confirmed on telephone. Please note that absence from any of the above will disqualify you.
5. What is the admission process?
- i. The course is open to graduates from any field (age below 28 years as or on 4th July,2010) who are keen to pursue a career in Broadcast Journalism in Hindi or English.
- ii. Admission forms can be downloaded. Forms are to be submitted with a DD of Rs. 1000 in favour of NDTV Ltd.
- iii. The form is not available at any of the other offices/bureaus of NDTV.
- iv. The Programme is designed for 10 months.
- v. Each batch has 40 seats.
- vi. Admission to the 3rd batch starting in April and the 4th batch starting in August will be done simultaneously.
- vii.Shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for an audio-visual test and an interview
- viii. The interview will be held only in Delhi in the 2nd week of March 2010.
- ix. Both batches (April 2010 and August 2010) will be selected concurrently. You may state your preference in the form or at the interview.
- x. The total fee for the programme is Rs 1.90 lakhs (plus taxes applicable).
6. How should I prepare for the entrance?
Preparation for the entrance only requires an awareness of current events as reported by the media and issues concerning the media. The decision to admit you to the course will be taken on the basis of audio-visual test and an interview.
7. Can I apply if I am married?
Certainly.
8. Will it be held against me if I have applied to other courses as well?
No, it will not be held against you, if you have applied to other courses.
9. Will there be any additional expenses within the courses?
Apart from your living expenses in Delhi, the course does not involve any other expenses.
10. Can I apply for financial help?
You can approach the banks for an educational loan individually after admission to the programme. The organization would give a bonafide certificate only after admission and is not liable for the above.
11. Will there be any help provided for accommodation?
We could guide you to get contacts of brokers in Delhi, you could also get in touch with students from previous batches.
12. How do I plan ahead if I am a wait listed candidate?
Wait-listed candidates are taken in if and when there are any drop-outs from the course. The number of drop-outs is variable.
13. Does this course guarantee any placement?
This course prepares you to become a broadcast journalist. NDTV does not ensure or guarantee any kind of placement or remuneration during the program. However you will be guided by mentors throughout the course to develop your skills required in the broadcast industry. We prepare you for future.
